sE Electronics V7 Gold is a dynamic vocal microphone in a limited-edition gold finish, released to mark sE Electronics' 25th anniversary. Beneath the gold-finished housing and grille sits the same technical specification as the standard V7 — the DMC7 capsule with an aluminum voice coil, neodymium magnet, and supercardioid polar pattern. The visible differences versus the standard version are the finish, the gold-plated XLR connector, and the windscreen set: black (installed from factory) and yellow (spare in the box). DMC7 supercardioid capsule and patented integrated shockmount The V7 Gold's supercardioid pattern provides a narrower acceptance angle than a cardioid and more effective lateral rejection — higher gain-before-feedback without having to pull bass frequencies out of the monitor mix. The aluminum voice coil on a neodymium magnet delivers fast transient response and an open, transparent sound across 40 Hz–19 kHz, with a gentle presence lift in the upper midrange that allows vocals to cut through a dense mix without relying on EQ. The patented internal shockmount mechanically decouples the capsule from the housing — vibrations transmitted through the vocalist's grip don't reach the signal path, which means less mechanical noise in the monitors without needing to apply a highpass filter to compensate. The all-metal construction (zinc alloy chassis, dent-proof and corrosion-resistant spring steel mesh grille) and beveled grille edge prevent the microphone from rolling off an amp top or the stage floor when set down. Gold-plated XLR connector and included accessories The gold-plated XLR connector reduces contact resistance and eliminates oxidation at the connector over years of touring use — a practical detail, not only an aesthetic one.
