Rio Kawamoto - Tamiyaboy EP (More Rice 010)

More Rice heads to Tokyo for its tenth release, welcoming Rio Kawamoto to the label. Born in Yokohama and DJing since 2007, Rio has spent close to two decades in Japan’s underground, more recently as part of Tokyo’s Cowboy Family crew. His 2024 EP Internet O.G.s on Cowboy Family Records looked back to the sounds of his early-2000s youth. Tamiya Boy rewinds further still. It’s a versatile, dancefloor-driven record, four-to-the-floor throughout, laced with playful samples lifted from the 90s. On the flip, DJ Tjizza, one of the minds behind Mood Waves and Tanzform, takes on Monroe Seesaw with a remix on B1.
