No. The U7-LR is powered by 802.3af/at PoE only. Use a PoE switch such as the UniFi USW-Lite-8-POE, or a compatible PoE injector. Do I need a UniFi gateway or controller?The U7-LR is configured and managed with the UniFi Network Application. That application runs on a UniFi gateway or console such as the UCG-Ultra, so most customers pair the two. Will it work with my existing Gigabit switch?Yes. The 2.5GbE port also links at 1Gbps. To use the full multi-gigabit uplink, connect it to a switch with 2.5GbE PoE ports. Note that the USW-Lite-8-POE has Gigabit ports, so the access point links at 1Gbps on that switch. Do my devices need to support WiFi 7?No. Older WiFi devices connect as normal. You will only see WiFi 7 speeds on WiFi 7 capable phones, laptops and other clients.
