L'Esprit de Chevalier Pessac-Leognan

Born in 1989, the second wine 'L’Esprit de Chevalier' is made in a softer, more forward style, while retaining the complexity, balance and structure associated with Domaine de Chevalier. The estate produced a brilliant Grand Vin in 2014, and L’Esprit was equally successful, offering impressive quality at a fraction of the price. A sleeper value of the highest order in aged Bordeaux. Now just over a decade in bottle, it is fully mature, with resolved tannins and alluring savoury nuances. Cassis, clove, smoke, old leather and forest floor emerge on the nose, followed by lively acidity, an agile body and a lingering, appetising finish marked by umami and savoury notes.
