HAND PAINTED VINTAGE LAMP & SHADE A decorative vintage table lamp with a hand painted floral pattern across the base and shade. Circa mid 20th century, the Middle East. Some of the paint is slightly worn which is consistence with previous use. Good working order Measures H53 x W24 x shade D40cm. A note on the material: this lamp is made of camel hide and has traditionally been used in Pakistani lampshade-making for hundreds of years, with the hide generally being a by-product of the meat industry. As a vintage piece, this lamp gives an existing material and object a second life rather than requiring the production of something new.
