Pitho mirabilis Crab

Pitho mirabilis Crab is a captivating reef-safe invertebrate that grows to 1–2 inches, making it perfect for established tanks of 10+ gallons. This peaceful omnivorous grazer actively consumes nuisance algae—including hair algae, bubble algae, and turf algae—while picking at detritus to maintain aquarium health. Easy to care for, the Pitho mirabilis thrives in stable saltwater conditions (72–78°F, pH 8.1–8.4, specific gravity 1.023–1.025). Provide ample live rock for hiding and natural foraging. Though generally reef-safe, occasional soft coral nibbling may occur if the crab is underfed—a varied diet prevents this behavior. Ideal for aquarists seeking an algae-eating invertebrate with personality and minimal maintenance demands.
