Alessi Corkscrew, Yellow and Black

A striking design object from Alessi, this corkscrew merges artistry with function. Created by visionary designer Mendini, it serves as an ironic self-portrait—a playful yet refined statement piece that commands attention in any kitchen or bar. The signature yellow and black checkerboard pattern is deliberate and hypnotic. As Mendini notes, the chequer motif possesses an enigmatic strength that structures any form, creating a mesmerizing visual rhythm capable of transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. More than a tool, it's a conversation starter—a sophisticated accent that reflects both wit and design literacy.
