Rudo Kinard (Rhonda) Last Minute Adjustments 15x21 Artist Statement My work explores Black boy joy. It is anti-monolithic. I’m influenced by love, laughter, family, and community. My use of high contrast black and white photography is meant to invite viewers to quiet their minds and reflect on the messages they’ve received about Black men and boys. There’s a lot of noise in the world about what Black men and boys are. I just want it to be quiet and joyful.
