Sarawak Liberica Long Banga Honey

Origin 09. Long Banga, Sarawak. Liberica. Not arabica, not robusta. A species most of the world wrote off ninety years ago. Malaysia never stopped growing it. Honey-processed. The skin comes off and the fruit's mucilage layer stays on the bean while it dries in the sun. Roasted medium. Tangerine at the front, then brown sugar and milk chocolate, with coconut underneath. A rare polyhybrid, Libex, from the same small estate at Long Banga that grew our Ragi lot, 500 metres up in Sarawak's Marudi District. The gentler of the two Sarawaks. Single estate.
