The flattened, slightly ribbed fruits can grow up to 454g (1lb) and it has smooth, thin skin that resists cracking. The flesh is firm and meaty with a delicious, rich flavour that is highly rated. Great eaten raw in sandwiches and salads as well as in sauces.
