Au Sommet 2021
Au Sommet 2021 Au Sommet originates in Alsace, where old Riesling vines take root on steep granite slopes. The grapes then travel to Rotalier, in the Jura, to be vinified by Anne and Jean-François Ganevat. A meeting between the energy of the grape and their patient approach to crafting white wines. The 2021 vintage spent two years in demi-muids before being bottled on 23 August 2023. This extended ageing gives the wine depth and shapes its texture. Citrus notes mingle with flowers, while hints of wax and smoke emerge with air, gradually broadening the aromatic palette. On the palate, the wine unfolds with depth, its substance threaded by an acidity that gives it direction. The ample texture retains a firm, precise backbone; the fruit stretches out, carried by a stony character and persistent salinity. The finish prolongs this meeting of density and freshness. A Riesling for the table, whose extended ageing brings texture while preserving its momentum.
