Bone Collagen – Fortibone®
Bone Collagen: Fortibone® Bioactive Collagen Peptides Collagen peptides studied for bone mineral density Bone is a mineral structure held together by a collagen matrix. Bone Collagen contains Fortibone®, a specific bioactive collagen peptide that has been investigated in human clinical research for its effect on bone mineral density (BMD) and bone remodelling markers. What the research looked at In a 12-month randomised, placebo-controlled trial, postmenopausal women with age-related reduced bone mineral density took 5 g of Fortibone® daily or a placebo. The primary measure was BMD in the lumbar spine (L1 to L4). BMD increased in the Fortibone® group over the 12 months, while BMD in the placebo group decreased by 1.3% at the spine and 1% at the femoral neck. Bone formation marker P1NP rose significantly in the Fortibone® group, and bone degradation markers did not change. A separate 12-month randomised study of postmenopausal women with osteopenia found that adding 5 g of Fortibone® to calcium and vitamin D was associated with greater improvements in tibial bone measures than calcium and vitamin D alone. Why Fortibone®? Fortibone® is a specific collagen peptide, not a generic collagen. Its research focus is bone, and the studies above used the same ingredient at the same 5 g daily dose. How to use Mix 5g serve daily into coffee, smoothies, yoghurt or your favourite drink. Ingredients Bioactive Collagen Peptides (Fortibone®) Studies were conducted in postmenopausal women with reduced bone mineral density. Always read the label and follow directions for use.
