BC Jade Protection Necklace

Protection Deepwater Talisman This one came out of the wrapping process with a definite opinion about what it wanted to be. Apparently: something from the deep. 🐋🌊 At its centre is a beautifully smooth piece of tumbled BC jade, dark green, substantial, and wonderfully organic in shape. Once I wrapped it in patinated copper, I couldn't stop seeing the suggestion of a whale surfacing through dark water. Is it actually whale-shaped? Not exactly. Does my brain now refuse to see anything else? Also yes. Rather than fight it, I leaned into the feeling. The flowing copper frame, spiral details, and richly darkened patina give this necklace the sense of an old maritime talisman—something carried for safe passage, steady nerves, and remembering that there is enormous power in moving calmly through deep water. The pendant measures 1.75" x 2" (approximately 4.4 x 5.1 cm) and has been wrapped and finished in patinated copper, which brings out every curl, coil, and woven detail while beautifully complementing the deep green jade. Jade has long been associated with protection, harmony, good fortune, wisdom, and steady abundance. Its energy is gentle but remarkably grounded—the sort of stone that doesn’t need to make a fuss to remind you that you’re standing on solid ground. Or, in this case, swimming through deep water just fine. This is a wonderfully earthy piece with a distinctly unisex feel: substantial, organic, a little mysterious, and not remotely interested in being dainty. Made slowly. Worn boldly.
