Human Trafficking Awareness for Employees-Spanish
This practical human trafficking awareness training explains how traffickers may use force, fraud, coercion, threats, debt, deception, financial control, isolation, and other forms of manipulation to exploit people. Human trafficking can occur in virtually any community, industry, or workplace. This Spanish-language course helps employees understand what human trafficking is, recognize potential signs of labor and sex trafficking, and know how to respond safely and appropriately when concerns arise. Human trafficking is often hidden, and no single warning sign proves that trafficking is occurring. This course teaches employees to look at the overall situation and recognize patterns of concerning behavior rather than relying on assumptions or stereotypes. Participants also learn how trafficking risks may arise through recruiters, staffing agencies, contractors, suppliers, vendors, and other third parties connected to an organization. Employees learn how to document and report factual observations, respond appropriately when someone discloses possible trafficking or exploitation, and follow established organizational reporting procedures. The course also explains when emergency assistance may be necessary and reinforces one of the most important principles of trafficking awareness: recognize and report—do not confront, rescue, or investigate. Major Training Points Understand what human trafficking is and how force, fraud, coercion, and exploitation may be involved Recognize potential indicators of labor trafficking and sex trafficking Identify signs of excessive control, isolation, and restricted personal freedom Recognize concerns involving withheld passports, identification, or other important documents Identify possible debt bondage, withheld wages, wage manipulation, and financial control Recognize controlled transportation, employer-controlled housing, and restrictive living arrangements Identify excessive working hours, inadequate breaks, and unsafe working or living conditions Recognize situations in which another person controls communication or insists on speaking for a worker Identify behavioral, physical, and emotional signs that may be associated with exploitation Understand why a single warning sign does not necessarily mean human trafficking is occurring Look for patterns and combinations of concerning circumstances rather than relying on stereotypes or assumptions Recognize potential trafficking risks involving recruiters, staffing agencies, contractors, suppliers, and vendors Document and report factual observations accurately and appropriately Understand why employees should never confront a suspected trafficker, attempt a rescue, or conduct their own investigation Respond appropriately when someone discloses possible trafficking or exploitation Follow organizational reporting procedures and recognize situations that may require emergency assistance Understand each employee’s role in supporting an ethical workplace that rejects exploitation and respects human dignity Organizations training employees in both languages can also use the English version of Human Trafficking Awareness for Employees.
