Presenting this Gilt Shadow by Universal Genève housed in a golden cushion shaped case, featuring a clean two-hand, time-only layout with an elegant champagne Roman numeral dial, embodying understated sophistication. This particular reference has become increasingly difficult to source. Beneath the slim profile lies one of the thinnest automatic movements of its era. Upon its introduction in 1972, the calibre measured an astonishingly thin 2.5mm, making it the world’s thinnest automatic movement at the time, a record later surpassed only in 2003 by the Piaget Calibre 71, which came in marginally slimmer at 2.4mm.
