Freshwater Pearl, Citrine and Rutilated Quartz Cabochon Pendant, Sterling Silver, 6.0g

The first thing that captured our attention with this pendant was that stone combination. The white nacre of the freshwater pearl against the yellowy bloom of the citrine and the ribbons of tinsel in the rutilated quartz cabochon. The graduated size is also awesome giving the pendant a lovely shape being worn - particularly with the inverted pear at the bottom - like a delicate drip. Rutilated quartz has always been a stone we loved due to the amazing golden inclusions. But with the rise of synthetic (and perfect) stones there has been a real push back to stones with inclusions - and we would argue what better stone than one that literally gets its name from the amazing inclusions that live in them. Often called Angel's hair, hair of Venus, or hair of Aphrodite - you can see how the mythical gods and their beauty have come to be synonymous with this stone, We love the triple bezel and the hinged bail - giving it freedom to move - but still look super streamline. And just look at it on the big bolt clasp - such a great statement.
