slim hardback notebook - various cover designs
Cambridge Imprint is a small Cambridge-based business that designs and prints patterned paper known for vivid colors, joyful hand-drawn illustration and typography, and careful attention to detail. Nearly everything is made in England: the papers are litho-printed in Bethnal Green by a long-standing printers’ cooperative, using matte uncoated stock and hand-mixed vegetable oil-based inks. They then work with small, highly skilled English makers (box-makers, bookbinders, potteries and textile printers) to turn their patterns into durable, beautiful, useful pieces. Cambridge Imprint slim hardback notebooks are inspired by the slim patterned German Insel-Bücherei books of the inter-war period. (In the United Kingdom, King Penguins had a similar design, and later on Ladybird books shared the same format.) They have 80 pages of plain cream paper, sewn properly and bound into a slim, light hardback notebook, covered in patterned paper, that opens completely flat. Each notebook measures 18.5 cm tall by 12 cm wide. The front cover has a rectangular cream label.
