Listen to a soundbite: •IAM CD1099 – 75:30 min. SHUJAAT KHAN – SITAR TEJENDRA NARAYAN MAJUMDAR – SAROD Anindo Chatterjee – Tabla Raga Hemant Alap & Jor – 35:09 Madhya Gat In Tintal – 19:59 Drut Gat In Tintal – 20:13 SHUJAAT KHAN and TEJENDRA NARAYAN MAJUMDAR present a rendition of raga Hemant. Their alap emphasises the poignant facet of the raga, although a touch of romance is inherent in its melodic personality and the gats favour Hemant’s romantic, vivacious facet. The scintillating quality of the music here is hardly a surprise considering that the partnership of Shujaat and Tejendra has matured beautifully.
