Watch Overview We are pleased to present this vintage Vacheron & Constantin ultra-slim dress wristwatch, dating to circa 1960. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, this timepiece is accompanied by its original box, outer box, Certificate of Origin and Guarantee, and Vacheron & Constantin medallion/tag. Vacheron & Constantin has been making ultra-thin watches for generations, and by the mid-20th century these elegant dress watches had become an important part of the brand’s production. In 1955, Vacheron & Constantin introduced the caliber 1003, an exceptionally thin manual-wind movement measuring just 1.64mm in thickness. This movement made it possible to create remarkably thin watches such as this example. Inside is the Vacheron & Constantin caliber 1003, a manual-wind mechanical movement with 17 jewels. The movement is adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and five positions. Its original Certificate of Origin and Guarantee identifies the watch as Model 94961. Swiss-made. The beige dial has a clean and elegant design with applied gold stick hour markers and matching hour and minute hands. Housed in a slim 31mm round 18K yellow gold case measuring just 4mm thick, it features a smooth polished bezel, elongated curved lugs, and a plain polished caseback. It is paired with a black leather strap. This timepiece has been inspected by our in-house watchmaker and is running and keeping time.
