The dials intricate pattern takes inspiration from the graceful drape and texture of finely woven Tomioka Silk. The luster and whiteness of this silk is produced by a rare silkworm in Gunma where the Tomioka Silk Mill resides. The dial reflects this with a pearl like coating that shimmers on the dial. The model is paired with a dark brown leather strap, a nod to the brick facade of the mill, and finishing off the design with pink-gold-colored case that compliments the dial and the strap giving the watch a distinguished look. The watch is not only unique, and beautiuflly crafted but Seiko Presage supports the efforts of passing down and preserving the silk industry by donating a portion of the proceeds to the Tomioka silk promotion organization.
