Hosta 'Baja White' | Shiny Green Leaves with White Undersides

Dark green shine with a hidden white finish Hosta 'Baja White' brings glossy dark green foliage and a surprising white underside to the shade garden. Mark Zilis registered this sport of 'Oshima Silk' in 2010. Lightly wavy leaves form a small mound that fits neatly along a shaded path. Pale purple flowers extend its appeal late in the growing season. Tuck it beside a woodland border where you can enjoy its polished foliage throughout a Canadian summer. A hidden contrast: Shiny green leaf tops contrast with the white, waxy bloom beneath, rewarding a closer look. A gentle outline: Lightly wavy leaves soften the mound and lend a relaxed feel to shaded edging. Late-season colour: Pale purple tubular flowers add a delicate finishing touch when many earlier hostas have finished blooming. A manageable pace: Moderate growth makes this small hosta an appealing companion for a thoughtfully arranged shade border.
