ONLINE LIVE WORKSHOP Understanding COLOR – Ombré, Gradients & Perfect Blending Why does a color gradient work perfectly with one color – and not at all with the next? Why do two colors look beautiful individually – but as soon as you combine them, nothing works anymore? Why do spots, streaks, or harsh transitions appear, even though you are using the same technique? Is it the brush? The sponge? The paint? The consistency? The substrate? Or are you simply using the wrong technique in the wrong place? The answer is usually: It's the interplay of everything. Because for a perfect ombré, there isn't one brush, one sponge, or one technique. Do you know that depending on where the color gradient should be on the nail, you need a different approach? That depending on the pigmentation and consistency of the color, a different tool works better? That the substrate is also crucial for how the colors appear, how they can be blended, and what the finished result looks like? Some colors can be beautifully blended wet-on-wet. Others require dry application, several thin layers, or a completely different approach. And no – there's not just one way to Rome. In this online live workshop, you will learn to truly understand colors, instead of just imitating a technique. What awaits you We will work with: ✓ Gels and gel polishes ✓ Solid and glitter colors ✓ Different pigmentations and consistencies ✓ Various substrates ✓ Different brushes ✓ Various sponges ✓ Wet-on-wet and dry blending techniques ✓ Different positions and gradient directions on the nail You will learn, among other things: Which color is suitable for which technique? Not every color can be processed the same way. We will look at the role of pigmentation, opacity, and consistency – and why some colors work immediately, while others require a completely different approach. You will also learn why colors can look great individually, but not harmonize together or be technically difficult to blend. Why the substrate is crucial The substrate not only influences the effect of the colors, but also the processing and the overall result. A color can appear completely different on a light, dark, milky, transparent, or colored substrate. We will look at how to choose the right substrate and use it purposefully, instead of leaving the result to chance. Which tool do you really need? Brush or sponge? And if a brush: Which brush is suitable for which gradient? When do you need a soft brush, when a firmer one, and when a completely different tool? There are also big differences in sponges. The wrong sponge can cause texture, spots, or harsh transitions – the right one can make your work much easier. Wet-on-wet or dry application? Both techniques have their justification. You will learn when you can blend colors directly, when you should work in layers, and how to recognize which method is suitable for your material and desired result. Why the position of the ombré is crucial A gradient at the nail tip is done differently than a gradient in the cuticle area. A lateral gradient requires a different movement than a horizontal gradient. A color gradient with intense tones or a glitter gradient also places completely different demands on technique and tool. For beginners and professionals The workshop is equally suitable for beginners and experienced nail designers. Because no matter how long you have been working: When it comes to color, consistency, substrate, tools, and technique, there is always something new to discover, understand, and improve. Beginners will receive a clear foundation and learn to make conscious decisions from the start. Professionals can question existing working methods, analyze problems more precisely, and deepen their technical understanding. Everyone can learn something. What you should bring The absolute prerequisite is excellent products of outstanding quality. We work with nailARTS gels and gel polishes in solid and glitter colors. With poor, unreliable, or unsuitable materials, a technique might somehow work – but consistently clean and reproducible results cannot be achieved that way. What else you need: ✓ Perseverance ✓ Curiosity ✓ A desire to learn ✓ A willingness to practice ✓ The will to develop further Perfection does not come with the first attempt. But if you understand why something works or doesn't work, you can practice specifically instead of repeating the same mistakes over and over. No frustration. No self-doubt. No hate. This workshop takes place in a safe and respectful environment. There are no stupid questions. You don't have to prove anything and don't have to compare yourself with others. We leave frustration and self-doubt outside. Those who know me know: I like to help, explain in detail, and together with you, I look for the cause if something doesn't work. Questions are not only allowed – they are explicitly encouraged. Hate, derogatory comments, or disrespectful behavior have no place in this group. We are here to learn, practice, and develop together. The goal of the workshop After the workshop, you should not only know how a certain technique works. You should understand why it works. You will learn to correctly assess colors, substrates, consistencies, tools, and techniques and to combine them purposefully. Because only when you understand this interplay can you decide for yourself: Which color? Which color combination? Which substrate? Which tool? Which technique? Which order? Which movement? Which layer thickness? That's when the real magic with color begins.
