The Chorus wildlife recorder is designed to withstand demanding field conditions. It is weather-resistant and rugged, with low-profile microphones that reduce the likelihood of being damaged by livestock and wildlife. Even if your microphones become damaged, they can be easily replaced by the user in seconds, so you do not need to send the recorder back: simply replace the microphone in the field. The included microphone depends on the option selected at the time of purchase. Chorus includes an acoustic microphone, so if you want to record birds or frogs, it is ready to use. Chorus also features dual-channel recording, allowing you to add an ultrasonic microphone for recording bats, or a second acoustic microphone for stereo recordings. No additional devices, such as phones, are required to configure the recorder; Bluetooth is not required, making deployment more reliable. You can check your settings directly on the recorder using the internal OLED display. You can choose from our automatic schedules for night mode, day mode, or continuous recording, or create your own schedule; you can record bats at night and birds during the day. You can even record bats in zero-crossing mode directly on the recorder to save memory during long-term deployments. It is easy to create complex schedules with multiple tasks using the built-in Toolbox scheduler in Insight. Chorus battery life is unmatched, allowing you to record for up to 50 nights in full-spectrum ultrasonic mode, or 350 hours of acoustic recording, using just 4 AA batteries. Like all our equipment, it includes an integrated GPS as standard. All your files will be geotagged, your location will be used to calculate sunrise and sunset for automatic scheduling, and you can even activate transect mode to save a route.
