Pintarrucho

Built through a restrained arrangement of warm, pale passages, Pintarrucho holds a reduced animal-like image between recognition and uncertainty. The visible canvas and uneven handling of acrylic give the surface an active role, as the image appears to emerge gradually from the material. Part of the Apocalypse series, the work relates to Wilame Lima’s interest in remembered subjects and in the transformation of an image as descriptive certainty begins to recede.
