A practical Edwardian piano stool or hall bench produced by James Shoolbred & Co, fitted with a hinged lift-up seat for storage. The original upholstered seat remains in place and the piece retains a brass maker's plaque; the turned arm supports and inlaid detail show typical period styling. Dimensions Width: 108 cm Depth: 39 cm Height: 57 cm Seat Height: 50 cm Condition Structurally sound and the lid/seat lifts to reveal a neat internal storage compartment. Upholstery is dated but in fair condition with general soiling consistent with age. The woodwork has scuffs, light scratches and areas of finish wear visible in the images; the brass maker's plaque shows patina/verdigris. The side handles have some movement and the internal storage lever lock is slightly bent but works with a little fiddling.
