If the handpiece stalls easily or the bristles feel tight, switch to the other size. Pediatric Small and Pediatric Large fit the SymplBrush Jr. for ages 5 to 12. Changing a cradle takes seconds: grip the cradle and motor together, rotate the cradle clockwise to separate them, lift the old bristle insert out, then reverse the steps. Plan on a fresh set every three months. That is the same interval the American Dental Association recommends for replacing any toothbrush, because splayed and worn bristles stop removing plaque effectively.
