Halo P1 Race Brake Fluid The highest dry boiling point of any racing brake fluid: 341°C / 646°F. Halo P1 is a race-only, high-performance methyl triglycol (MTG) borate ester brake fluid with a proprietary formulation from Orthene, the manufacturer behind an estimated 65% of the world's racing brake fluid (per Orthene). It is built for the most demanding motor racing applications, where pedal consistency from the first lap to the last decides braking points. Technical Specifications Dry Boiling Point 341°C / 646°F Chemical Base Borate ester (MTG) Kinematic Viscosity @ -40°C 1313 cSt Kinematic Viscosity @ 100°C 2.5 cSt Bosch M4/M5 ABS Compatible Yes Container Size 600 ml Intended Use Race only What It Does For Your Braking Low compressibility: a firm, consistent pedal across a wide temperature range. In Halo's pedal-travel test, P1 held constant travel until roughly 300°C, while the competitor fluids tested showed growing pedal travel well before vapor lock. Low viscosity: quicker piston release and faster system response, including at low temperatures and in ABS modulation. High lubricity: reduced wear on master cylinder, caliper and ABS seals, and consistent piston roll-back. High boiling point: a wider operating window with less fluid degradation. Pure formulation: lower air entrainment, less bleeding and reduced fluid use. Proven In Competition 2025 season: 15+ championships covered, 15+ vehicle categories, 100+ race wins and 14 championship wins. Technical partners include Prema, Meyer Shank Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, Akkodis ASP, Maffi Racing and Steller. Halo GT3 testing (Imola 6 Hours and GTWCE Catalunya, two identical cars, ~20°C dry): Less pedal travel for the same brake pressure. More deceleration for the same brake pressure. Lower disc temperatures than the competitor car at Imola. Higher minimum corner speed, attributed by Halo to faster piston roll-back. Test results are manufacturer-reported. Switching To Halo P1 Most racing fluids are borate ester based and miscible with P1. A thorough flush is generally sufficient. If the car has silicate ester fluid (such as Castrol SRF), Halo recommends stripping and rebuilding calipers and master cylinders with new seals. Condition the new seals in P1 for 24 hours before assembly, then follow a standard bedding-in procedure. Silicate ester fluids are not recommended for Bosch M4/M5 ABS modules due to poor lubricity. P1 or GT? P1 is the race-only formulation with the highest dry boiling point. If you want race-derived performance in a road-compliant DOT 4 fluid for track days and street, see Halo GT.
