IC #128 – Darkness & Light in Newcastle… Plus more

Here is some really “fresh bread” for the IC members this month! I had a great run of Darkness & Light shows in Europe in June – playing solo and being able to change things up every night was great fun and we had some really blessed times. Newcastle ended up being one of the richest shows of the entire tour. I had never played there before and honestly had no expectations. The venue was very small, but something just felt right. I don’t know why, but for me it felt free and good. And… the recording turned out pretty good too! I ended up playing House of the Rising Sun, as Eric Burdon & The Animals came from there, and I even sang a bit of Blue Bayou for a lady who requested it! But wait… there’s more! I’ve also added some selections that I didn’t play at that show as a bonus. We had an amazing show in Bochum where Francis Norman, who you’ll know from seeing him play violin at the European Morsefests, joined me and we created some special versions of the songs, and even played a cover of The Boxer! Finally, some shows from Hamburg where I played Powder Keg from Darkness & Light, June (because it was June!) and the Eagles classic Avocado! I hope those of you who live elsewhere in the world will get a taste of these shows from this release … it’s almost 3 hours of music and chat!
