Aultmore 15 Year Old Chorlton 58.1% 70cl Speyside’s Aultmore is celebrated for its elegant robustness, and this release from independent bottler Chorlton Whisky is a real treasure. Aged in a somewhat leaky refill ex-bourbon barrel, it offers an array of tropical fruit notes, plus vanilla sponge and a fascinating leafy, spearmint-like herbal quality. Bottled just before its 16th birthday (the team couldn’t let it all leak away!), the cask yielded just 160 bottles at a natural ABV of 58.1%.
