Dominus Proprietary Blend Napa Valley 2019 (Half Bottle 375mL)

The 2019 Dominus is composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot, harvested from late September through early October and aged in 40% new oak. The nose slowly unfurls with candied violets and rose oil over a core of crème de cassis, blackberry, and plum preserves, giving way to licorice, Indian spices, iron ore, and crushed rock, while the full-bodied palate is jam-packed with taut, muscular black fruit, framed by firm, finely grained tannins and seamless freshness. Critics at Wine Advocate and James Suckling both awarded it 98 points. Offered here in half bottles, it is a wonderful format for drinking a window of this tightly wound wine over time, though patience remains the watchword.
