14K Rose Gold Diamond Pave Earrings with a GDTC Certificate One of only two pieces we make with natural diamonds set in solid gold, and the one that comes with an official GDTC diamond certificate. Everything else in our range uses moissanite or cubic zirconia, so this is a different kind of purchase: precious metal, certified stones and paperwork to prove it. Product details of the 14K Rose Gold Diamond Earrings Brand: Carpe Ice Product type: Diamond stud earrings Metal: Solid 14K rose gold, 585 Stones: Natural diamonds, round brilliant, pave set Total carat weight: 0.084 ct Colour and clarity: G colour, SI2 Size: approximately 4.7 mm Fastening: Push-back Includes: Official GDTC diamond certificate and Carpe Ice jewelry box Why rose gold suits diamonds A warm metal behind a colourless stone does something a cool one does not: it gives contrast. Where white gold blends with the diamond so the two read as a single bright point, rose gold outlines each stone, so you see the setting and the sparkle as separate things. It is also the less common choice, which on a piece this classic is the main reason to take it: a diamond stud is a design everyone owns, and the metal is where you make it yours. What the certificate covers The GDTC certificate confirms that the diamonds are natural and states their grading, which is the difference between being told a stone is real and being able to show it. It matters most in two situations: insurance, and resale years from now. The grades themselves are G colour and SI2 clarity. G is near-colourless and reads as white to the eye at this size, and SI2 means inclusions are visible under 10x magnification but not to the naked eye. Both are chosen because on a 4.7 mm stud they look identical to higher grades that cost considerably more. How this compares with our moissanite studs These hold 0.084 ct in total, spread across many small pave diamonds, so the effect is a fine, close sparkle rather than one large flash. Our moissanite studs use a single 5 mm stone each, which looks far larger and brighter for a fraction of the price. For maximum visible sparkle per euro, moissanite wins. For solid gold, natural diamonds and a certificate, these are the ones. They are simply different purchases. Care Take them out before swimming, and put them in once hairspray and skincare have dried, since product collecting under a pave setting is what dulls the stones rather than the diamonds themselves. Clean with lukewarm water and a soft brush, then dry fully. Solid gold can be repolished by any jeweller, so surface marks are never permanent. As a gift Diamond studs are among the safest pieces to give, because the design is universal and there is no sizing to get right.
