This is a very special first-flush Spring 2026 raw pu-erh made from naturally grown wild-arbor tea trees approximately 40–80 years old. For this production we have chosen not to disclose the mountain, village, or exact growing area. Instead, we invite you to approach the tea without preconceptions and experience it entirely through the cup. “Dreams” is one of the most aromatic and graceful raw pu-erh teas in our 2026 lineup. Its character is built around perfume, sweetness, clarity, and an unusually smooth mouthfeel. The tea has plenty of structure and depth, but rather than announcing itself through overwhelming bitterness or brute strength, it unfolds gradually, revealing more with each infusion. The dry leaf is highly aromatic, and once awakened with hot water the fragrance becomes penetrating and expansive. Sweet wildflowers, sugarcane, fresh bamboo, pale stone fruit, and a touch of citrus peel rise from the gaiwan. The brewed tea is bright yellow-gold and exceptionally clear, with a full, rounded texture that spreads easily across the mouth. The flavor begins with clean cane sweetness and soft grain, followed by peach-like fruitiness and a high floral character that seems to hover above the liquor. There is enough youthful bitterness to provide structure, but it is measured and clean rather than harsh. As the session progresses, the sweetness becomes increasingly prominent and the tea develops a distinctly cooling quality in the mouth and throat. Hui gan returns quickly and persists, accompanied by steady sheng jin and a long aromatic aftertaste. One of the most compelling qualities of “Dreams” is the way its character seems to shift from infusion to infusion. At first it can seem light, floral, and almost effortless, but repeated steepings reveal substantial depth beneath that elegance. The mouthfeel becomes thicker, the sweetness more persistent, and the floral and fruity notes begin to merge into something more difficult to separate into individual flavors. It is a tea that rewards attention without demanding it. The cha qi is calm but unmistakable. Rather than hitting all at once, it accumulates slowly over the course of the session, bringing a relaxed clarity and a gentle sense of expansiveness. Combined with the tea’s fragrance, cooling finish, and long returning sweetness, this gives “Dreams” a particularly contemplative quality. The exact origin of this tea will remain undisclosed. We selected it because of what is in the cup: exceptional aromatics, smooth structure, strong returning sweetness, excellent stamina, and a character that distinguishes it even among our premium Spring productions. Brewing Guide Gongfu (recommended) 6 grams per 100 ml 98–100°C Quick rinse Start with 5–8 second infusions and lengthen gradually Expect 10+ infusions with excellent aromatic persistence For an especially soft and floral presentation, try 95–96°C during the first few infusions. Western 3–4 grams per 300 ml 95–98°C Steep for 2:00–2:30 Re-steep 2–3 times, adding 20–30 seconds each round Grandpa Style 1–1.2 grams per 100 ml 90–95°C Top up with hot water as you drink Grandpa style emphasizes the tea’s sugarcane sweetness, floral aroma, and cooling mouthfeel while keeping the bitterness restrained. Aging Notes “Dreams” has the combination of aromatics, structure, sweetness, and stamina that we look for in a tea intended for long-term aging. The floral and fresh fruit character should gradually deepen, while the mouthfeel becomes softer and more integrated and the returning sweetness increasingly pronounced. Store in 50-65% RH and 70-90F, in an odor-free area, with minimal airflow. Over time we expect the bright floral profile to develop toward deeper honey, dried fruit, sweet wood, and increasingly rounded sweetness, while retaining the underlying clarity that makes the tea so appealing when young.
