Cosmos 'Daydream'

Botanical Name: Cosmos bipinnatus Lifecycle: Annual Heritage: circa 1930's 'Daydream' Cosmos produce showy white to pale pink coloured flowers with a rosy blush hued centre. It is early flowering and produces masses of striking flowers over a long period. The vigorous plants will thrive in any garden and have a well branched habit. Mass plantings look fantastic but they're also great for pots and borders. Excellent for attracting pollinators to the vegetable garden. They make striking cut flowers, do so by cutting flower stalks as far down as possible then immediately place in cool water. Cosmos are perfect for kids and novice gardeners as they’re easy to grow, adaptable and low maintenance. Drought tolerant, trouble free with very little worries about pests or disease. SOWING: Spring - Early Autumn Direct, or Transplant Cosmos seeds are best sown in spring to early autumn. Seeds can be sown in trays for transplanting, or directly in place approx. 10 – 20 cm apart when soil temperatures are between 18°c – 25°c. 18°c - 25°c 7 - 14 days Transplant seedlings, or thin directly sown seeds to a final spacing of approx. 20cm - 30cm apart once plants have some true leaves. 20cm - 30cm 60 - 90 days Tender TIPS: Compost and mulch well for best results.
