The hydrogel wound-contact pad contains 30% medical-grade honey combined with an acrylic polymer gel and water. It donates moisture to help rehydrate dry tissue while absorbing and retaining wound fluid, supporting an appropriately moist wound-healing environment. A flexible polyurethane film backing and adhesive border help hold the dressing securely in place. This makes L-Mesitran Border particularly suitable for difficult-to-dress areas where secure fixation and patient mobility are important. The dressing follows the contours of the wound bed to maintain contact with the wound surface. Its showerproof outer film helps protect the wound while allowing water vapour and gases to pass through. L-Mesitran Border Honey Hydrogel Pad may be used for low to moderately exuding wounds, including: Pressure ulcers Venous and diabetic ulcers Superficial wounds Surgical wounds Cuts and abrasions Donor sites Superficial and partial-thickness burns Fungating wounds Directions for Use Cleanse and inspect the wound according to the appropriate clinical protocol. Select a dressing that allows the hydrogel pad to overlap the wound edges by approximately 1cm. Remove the protective liner and gently position the gel side over the wound. Smooth the adhesive border onto the surrounding skin, ensuring that the dressing is securely fixed. Inspect the wound and surrounding skin regularly. The dressing may remain in place for up to five days, depending on the condition of the wound and the level of exudate. Replace before the dressing becomes saturated or if its integrity has been compromised.
