It bursts with intoxicating jasmine from the moment you grind it, followed by delicate white grape, juicy lychee, and that unmistakable bergamot finish that made this region famous. If colors had flavors, this coffee would be green and white. Elegant. Ethereal. Intensely floral. This is one of the best coffees we've roasted all year. This release features original artwork by Anthony Oilhack. Anthony creates mesmerizing fluid paintings using poured pigments and photographed macro compositions, revealing landscapes and textures that seem almost cosmic. His work mirrors the experience of this coffee—layered, luminous, and constantly evolving as you spend more time with it. Built in 2023, the station sits on 2.5 hectares and processes coffee from 868 neighboring smallholder farmers, producing roughly 500–600 metric tons of coffee each harvest. Although the station is new, the traditions behind these coffees stretch back generations. Producers deliver cherries by mule or on foot before meticulous washing, fermentation, and drying preserve the vibrant floral character that has made Gedeb famous throughout the coffee world. Farming & Terroir The producers surrounding Gotiti farm incredibly small plots—typically between 0.1 and 2 hectares—beneath a dense canopy of native trees. False banana plants and towering acacias provide shade while naturally enriching the soil with nitrogen, allowing coffee to flourish with minimal outside inputs. The combination of ancient Ethiopian landrace varieties, rich forest soils, and elevations above 2,000 meters creates ideal conditions for producing remarkably dense, aromatic coffees with extraordinary complexity. This is why coffees from Gedeb continue to define what great washed Ethiopian coffee can be. Processing After harvest, cherries are delivered daily to the washing station where they are carefully sorted before processing.
