Japanese cat cup for everyday coffee and tea A Mino ware cup from the Kuro Neko series, painted with black cats that wrap around the body. At 200ml it sits between an espresso cup and a full mug — right for a short black, a strong tea, or a small hot chocolate. Choose black for a bolder, graphic look, or beige for a softer everyday piece. Both carry the same cats. Unlike our hand-painted Kutani pieces, this one is microwave and dishwasher safe, so it holds up to daily use. Not suitable for oven use. Mino ware has been made in Gifu prefecture for over 400 years and accounts for more than half of all Japanese tableware. Because each piece is fired individually, slight variation in shade and pattern placement is normal. Made in Japan.
