Adega do Mato is situated right on the innermost border of the Vinho Verde, surrounded by pine forests & close to the Tâmega river, creating special conditions for the production of wines with a unique character! Adega do Mato means ‘wine cellar in the bush’, due to the winery being located in an area of unique scrubland which is a result of being in the transition zone between the Vinho Verde & Trás-os-Montes. Padeiro, also known as Padeiro de Basto, is an indigenous vinho verde grape that originated in the sub-region of Basto, and means baker in Portuguese, but unfortunately the reason why has been lost to history!Espadeiro is a distinctive indigenous Portuguese grape variety that brings elegance and freshness to this rosé blend. Known for its delicate floral aromatics and crisp acidity, Espadeiro contributes a beautiful pale salmon hue and subtle red fruit notes that complement the Padeiro's character. This ancient variety thrives in the Vinho Verde region's unique terroir, where the cooler climate and transition zone conditions allow it to develop its signature finesse and complexity.
