8588 Scan-Speak Classic D2010/8513 3/4″ Textile Dome Tweeters (Pair) | Checked by Andrew The Scan-Speak Classic D2010/8513 is a 3/4″ textile dome tweeter from Scan-Speak’s long-running Classic range, in production for more than three decades and still regarded as a benchmark performer. It was widely used as original equipment by a number of respected speaker manufacturers, including ProAc (Studio 150, Response 2 and 2.5, Response 1SC) and Spendor (S100, SP2/3), among others. This pair has been checked by Andrew. As is common with age on this model, the foam insert on the front faceplate — fitted originally to reduce diffraction and mechanical resonance — has deteriorated and crumbled on both units, as shown in our photographs. This does not affect the dome or voice coil, but buyers should be aware that replacement foam is readily available from specialist suppliers and is a straightforward retrofit.
