Crystal system- Isometric/cubic Habit- Almost always found as massive compact,or granular masses;well formed distinct crystals are extremely rare. Mineral class- Silicate Rock formation: Environment- forms in highly evolved, lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) granitic pegmatites. It crystallizes during the final,highly fractionated stages of granitic magma cooling.As volatile elements concentrate in the residual melt,heavy alkali metals like cesium become super concentrated,allowing Pollucite to precipitate out as one of the last primary mineral phases. It can also form slug later through the metasomatic alteration of pre-existing primary pegmatite minerals by hydrothermal fluids. Hardness-6.5-7 on the MOHs scale.
