The metabo HPT MFE 40 Wall Chaser (646040620) is a 5" variable-depth grinding tool designed to cut channels in plaster, concrete and masonry for electrical wiring, cables and empty pipes. It supports adjustable cutting depths from 3/8" to 1-9/16" (40 mm) to accommodate common chase requirements. A powerful 15 Amp LongLife motor with dust protection and a two-stage high-power drive delivers consistent performance. Full-wave Tacho-Constamatic electronics maintain constant speed under load for steady cutting; rated no-load speed is 5000 RPM and speed under load is 4400 RPM. Built for on-site use, the tool features a die-cast aluminum cover with rubber rollers and an optimized grip arrangement for comfortable guidance and a sliding cut for improved visibility of the marking line. Safety and service-life features include a torque-limiting clutch, dust-protected motor design, and an LED signal for overload or active restart protection. The MFE 40 connects to a compatible Metabo HPT vacuum for lower-dust operation and ships with two diamond cutting discs, spacer rings, a chase extraction chisel, a wrench and a durable plastic carrying case.
