Filament Extrusion Testing Service

Want to know if your plastic will extrude? Want to know what system will work best for your polymer? Use this service to evaluate the performance of your plastic with our extruder systems and its compatibility for being extruded into filament. Cost is for one polymer to be tested. Regardless of a pass or fail, testing services are non-refundable. MSDS and TDS are required for testing. We are not able to extrude any material without these documents. How It Works Customers send in 1/2 gallon of materials for extrusion testing, in pellet or solid form (See Below) After reviewing and discussing the needs of the filament with the customer, Filabot engineers extrude and use our machinery to test your specific materials. Choose from our Filabot EX3 or Filabot EX6. We'll send you our findings in a report, including data and information outlining the performance of your material on our machines. Melt Flow Test - $500 A melt flow test is performed with your material. This test can help to verify the flow rate or your material. Pellet Extruding Test - $1,200 We test pellets provided by the customer to see if the plastic can be extruded using our Filabot extruder systems. We will provide documentation on the proper temperatures and set up procedures. The minimum amount of material needed for testing is a half gallon container accompanied by MSDS on the material. Customer mails the sample to our testing lab after placing an order. Solid Grinding Extruding Test - $1,500 This is similar to the Pellet Extruding Test. This service should be selected when a customer has a solid piece of plastic, such as a plastic scrap. We will provide documentation on the proper temperatures and set up procedures. Minimum of a half gallon container of material necessary for testing, as well as MSDS on the material. Customer mails the sample to our testing lab after placing an order. Not a problem we at the lab will review and respect any NDAs that are needed to make the testing process as easy as possible.
