20s 30s Hat Display Stand Art Moderne Green & Chrome Shelf Edge VFG

These vintage hat display stands are so charming! They would have been used originally in a millinery shop or department store. The round base is stable enough to stand on its own, but the curving section that doubles back on itself allows you to slide it onto the edge of a shelf - it fits well on my 3/4" thick bookshelf.The curved edge knob adds a lovely pop of color. DIMENSIONS: Standing on flat surface - 9.25" tall Diameter of base - 4.75" Diameter of knob - 2" MATERIALS: The knob is painted wood, with a light gloss. I have several colors - this one is light green, in a vibrant shade that remind me of early Fiestaware. The stand and base are one continuous piece of metal - presumably chrome plated steel. CONDITION: the paint on the knob is intact, with a few small scuffs. The chrome of the metal stand and base is not a little dull, and the top side of reversing metal in the center of the base looks worn and a bit rusty. When I look closely, I see a subtle bend to the shaft - the price reflects this minor flaw.
