Breeding Your Own Celadons To get the celadon (blue egg) gene to pass down to your own chicks, you’ll need to ONLY breed Myshire celadons to Myshire celadons. BOTH the mother and the father need to carry the gene for it to be passed on. So if you breed a celadon mother to a non-celadon father, their chick won’t carry the gene. But if both parents have the gene, the chicks will carry it on! We recommend replacing your males every 6-9 months for maximum fertility.
