St Leonards-on-Sea Congregational Church,

established in 1863 by James Griffin to serve the expanding non-conformist congregation in the vicinity, it was designed and built by the prolific partnership of Edward Habershon and Edgar Brock and opened in 1864. It is built of local sandstone and was originally tiled in wood shingle, though this was replaced in the 20th century due to excessive weathering. The prominent copper-clad spire was severely damaged in the Great Storm of 1987, and so was removed. Worship ceased in the church in 2002, and it was declared as disused in 2008. The building has been remodelled internally to house a regular craft market, and to provide an alternative wedding and events venue. It is sited at the junction of London Road and Pevensey Road, just north of the Anglican Christ Church, which had opened in 1860.
