Radish Sango seeds (Sprout)

Radish Sango Microgreen Seeds Radish 'Sango' seed (Raphanus sativus) for growing purple microgreens on a tray, 25 g, 100 g or 400 g. 'Sango' is a radish bred for deep purple shoots with a peppery bite. It is usually cut 6 to 10 days after sowing, at 7 to 10 cm, while only the two seed leaves are open. How to grow Sango radish microgreens on a tray Fill a shallow tray with 3 to 4 cm of seed raising mix, water it evenly and let it drain. Sow the seed dry, about 10 to 15 g for a 25 cm tray, in one even layer. Press it lightly in without burying it and mist the surface. Cover it with a second tray or a lid and keep it in a dim spot until the seedlings are up. Uncover it and move it into bright light, out of hot direct sun, for colour. Water the mix from below. Cut with clean scissors just above the mix while only the seed leaves are open, when the leaves are dry. Refrigerate dry shoots in a sealed container at 5°C or colder and use them within two or three days. Food safety Microgreens are grown and eaten like raw sprouts, and raw produce can carry Salmonella, E. coli and Listeria, even when grown with care at home. The NSW Food Authority advises cooking all sprouts thoroughly before eating. People who are pregnant, aged 70 or over, children under 5 and anyone with a weakened immune system should eat microgreens cooked, not raw. Wash, rinse and sanitise jars, trays and tools before the first batch and between batches, and use only water fit to drink. Potting mix can carry Legionella bacteria: follow the warning on the bag, wet the mix down, wear gloves and a P2 mask, and wash your hands afterwards.
