A worn or hardened gasket is the most common reason a cooker leaks steam or fails to build pressure; swapping it restores the seal without tools. Press the new gasket evenly into the groove all the way round. No tools needed. Wash by hand after use and let it dry before storing. Keep away from direct flame. Replace the gasket when it becomes hard, cracked or stretched, or when steam escapes from the lid edge.
