The Sidama region is home to fertile highlands, abundant rivers and lakes, and a cool climate driven by high altitude. With over 100 inches of annual rainfall, coffee cherries here ripen more slowly than in any other Ethiopian region, resulting in truly top-tier coffee. The area is dotted with more than 50 cooperatives and 200 washing stations. Washed coffees from Sidama are remarkably balanced, generally showcasing ripe stone fruit and citrus aromas, complemented by subtle underlying floral notes. In this light-roasted Gara Agena, you’ll find a delicate profile led by apricot and mangosteen, with a soft, lingering scent of lily.
