Flameback Drop Earrings

The flameback is a small angelfish of the Atlantic reefs, deep blue, with a streak of bright orange running along its back like a flame. Each earring begins with a small hollow nugget of gold, 4.6 by 7.7 mm, sitting flat on the lobe. From it a fine chain falls straight down and ends in a slim drop of gold, 13 by 4 mm, shaped like a flame, with a 0.01 carat diamond set near its tip, 0.02 carat for the pair. Both the nugget and the drop are brushed, soft and matte, and the whole earring is 46 mm long, so the drop moves freely below the ear. They close with butterfly backs. They are made as a set with the Flameback Lariat Necklace. The nugget at the top is the same small form as the Requiem studs. One pair is finished and in the studio now, in 14K yellow gold. Every other gold is made to order.
