Hytera HP50X H-Series Professional DMR — 256 Channels IP67 — OLED Display — Optional GNSS + BT Hytera's compact H-Series professional DMR radio — OLED display, 256 channels across 16 zones, IP67, MIL-STD-810H, AI noise cancellation, 0.18μV receiver sensitivity, USB-C, and optional GNSS positioning or Bluetooth audio. Lighter and more affordable than the HP56X. The Hytera HP50X is Hytera's compact, lightweight H-Series professional DMR radio — sharing the same core platform as the HP56X but in a smaller, lighter package with an OLED display and 256 channels across 16 zones. It is a significant step above the BD5x and BD6x commercial series, bringing IP67 full submersion protection, MIL-STD-810H military durability, ARC4 digital encryption, text messaging, lone worker safety, and optional GNSS or Bluetooth 5.2 to a more compact and affordable form factor. At 265g, it is notably lighter than the HP56X (321g) — making it the better fit for users who carry the radio all day and want the full H-Series professional feature set without the larger chassis. AI-based noise cancellation and an industry-leading 0.18μV receiver sensitivity deliver the same range and audio performance as the HP56X. USB-C handles charging and programming, and dual dedicated knobs provide fast volume and channel control. Available in six variants — see the model selector below. Available at ITFactory.ca — Canada's trusted source for Hytera two-way radios. Choose Your Variant All six variants include the full HP50X feature set — OLED display, 256 channels / 16 zones, IP67, AI noise cancellation, ARC4 digital encryption, text messaging, lone worker, dual knobs, and USB-C. The only differences between variants are band (UHF or VHF), and whether GNSS satellite positioning or Bluetooth is built in. If you do not need GPS fleet tracking or wireless earpieces, the standard U1 or V1 is the right choice — it is not a stripped-down version, it is the full HP50X radio. Add GNSS if dispatch needs to see where your team is. Add Bluetooth if your team uses wireless earpieces or you want to program the radio via smartphone. HP50X vs HP56X — Which H-Series Radio Do You Need? HP56X HP50X (this) IP rating IP67 — submersible to 1m IP67 — submersible to 1m Display 1.45-inch colour LCD 1.45-inch colour LCD Channels / zones 512 channels / 32 zones 512 / 16 zones Receiver sensitivity 0.18µV (−122dBm) — same 0.18µV (−122dBm) guaranteed GNSS option Yes — G variants Yes — G variants Charging port USB-C — same USB-C Encryption ARC4 + analog — same Analog scrambler + ARC4 digital Text messaging No Yes Lone Worker No Yes Key Features OLED Display — Channel and Zone at a Glance A 0.91-inch OLED display confirms the active channel name, zone, battery level, signal strength, and radio status — giving users the key information they need without a full colour touchscreen. OLED delivers excellent contrast in both bright outdoor and low-light environments. The HP50X display is more compact than the HP56X's 1.45-inch colour LCD — keeping the overall radio smaller and lighter while retaining essential screen visibility. 512 Channels — 32 Zones 256 channels organized across 16 zones — capable of accommodating even the most complex multi-site, multi-department, multi-function deployments. Stadiums, hospitals, industrial parks, large campuses, and multi-building facilities can dedicate zones per building, floor, or function without running out of channel capacity. Zone navigation via the on-screen zone list keeps the experience practical for field users. IP67 — Fully Submersible to 1 Metre IP67-rated — fully dust-tight and protected against temporary submersion in up to 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes. Suitable for environments involving full submersion risk, including outdoor operations in standing water, flood conditions, and wash-down procedures. AI-Based Noise Cancellation — 0.18μV Receiver Sensitivity AI-based digital noise cancellation suppresses background noise in the transmitted audio for clarity in loud environments. At −122dBm receiver sensitivity (0.18μV), the HP50X delivers exceptional range and ability to receive weak signals — maintaining connectivity at the edges of coverage where lesser radios drop out. Extended range performance is also supported by improved antenna gain and reduced attenuation in the H-Series platform design. Optional GNSS — G Variants The HP50X-G-U1 and HP50X-G-V1 include integrated GNSS positioning — GPS and other global navigation satellite systems. Radio location is reported to dispatch software for fleet visibility, lone worker check-in, and location-based emergency response. Battery life is 15 hours with GNSS off and 13 hours with GNSS on, both at the 5/5/90 duty cycle. Optional Bluetooth 5.2 — BT Variants The HP50X-BT-U1 and HP50X-BT-V1 include Bluetooth 5.2 BLE+EDR — supporting both audio accessories (wireless earpieces and headsets) and data connectivity for programming via the HyTool Radio Manager smartphone app. BT data connectivity allows channel and parameter programming via smartphone without a PC or USB cable. USB-C — Charging and Programming USB-C replaces the Micro-USB of the BD series — faster charging, more durable connector, and compatible with the same USB-C chargers used for modern smartphones. Serves as both the charging and programming port. Dual Dedicated Knobs — Volume and Channel Separate physical knobs for volume and channel control allow fast, direct adjustment without navigating menus — critical for field workers who need to change channel or volume quickly. The ergonomic dual-knob design is a professional-grade standard found in higher-tier radio platforms, not available on the BD series. ARC4 Digital Encryption + Analog Scrambler Digital channels support ARC4 encryption for secure voice — preventing casual eavesdropping on digital transmissions. Analog channels include the standard analog voice scrambler. For organizations with sensitive operational communication requirements, ARC4 provides a meaningful layer of security beyond the analog scrambler alone. Text Messaging, Lone Worker, and Safety Features Two-way text messaging between radios enables non-voice communication for quiet environments, confirmation messages, and non-urgent information exchange. Lone Worker monitoring triggers an automatic alarm if the user fails to respond within a configurable period — critical for safety in isolated or hazardous work locations. Emergency alarm, man-down (motion-based emergency), and Priority Interrupt (licence required) round out the safety feature set. Licence-Enabled Advanced Features Optional software licences unlock Priority Interrupt (override lower-priority transmissions), Radio Disable/Enable and Remote Monitor (remotely disable a lost or stolen radio), and XPT single-site digital trunking (efficient channel use across large multi-radio deployments). These features are not available on the BD series and distinguish the HP50X as a scalable professional platform. MIL-STD-810H — Built for the Field Tested to MIL-STD-810 across six standard revisions for temperature, shock, vibration, humidity, and environmental durability. The polycarbonate housing provides excellent abrasion and heat resistance. Operating temperature range: −30°C to +60°C. Who Is This For? The HP50X is for professional organizations that want the full H-Series platform — IP67, MIL-STD-810H, AI noise cancellation, ARC4 encryption, text messaging, lone worker safety, GNSS and Bluetooth options — in a more compact, lighter, and more affordable package than the HP56X. It is the right choice when 256 channels across 16 zones is sufficient and the smaller OLED display is acceptable, or when users prefer a lighter radio for all-day carry. They serve different purposes. The GNSS variants (HP50X-G-U1 / HP50X-G-V1) add satellite positioning — reporting radio location to dispatch software for fleet visibility, lone worker check-in, and location-based emergency response. Choose GNSS if you need to know where your radios and users are in real time. The Bluetooth variants (HP50X-BT-U1 / HP50X-BT-V1) add Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless audio accessories (earpieces, headsets) and smartphone programming via the HyTool app. Choose Bluetooth if hands-free wireless audio is your priority. The two options are on separate variants — there is currently no combined GNSS + Bluetooth variant in this SKU lineup. Contact ITFactory.ca if you require both. What do the optional software licences unlock? Three advanced features require a separate software licence: Priority Interrupt allows a dispatcher or supervisor to break into an ongoing transmission to deliver urgent communications; Radio Disable/Enable and Remote Monitor allow remote deactivation of a lost or stolen radio and silent listening; XPT single-site digital trunking enables automatic channel assignment from a channel pool for more efficient use of spectrum in large multi-radio deployments. These features are not available on any BD series radio and are one of the key reasons to choose the HP50X for professional deployments. Contact ITFactory.ca for software licence availability and pricing. Is the HP50X compatible with my existing BD-series radios? Yes — in analog mode, the HP50X communicates with any analog radio on the same frequency and tone, including BD502i, BD552i, BD612i, and HP56X units. In DMR digital mode, it communicates with other DMR Tier II radios on the same frequency, colour code, and talk group. Mixed-fleet deployments combining HP50X, HP56X, and BD-series radios are fully practical. Does the HP50X need to be programmed before use? Yes. The HP50X requires programming to configure channels, zones, frequencies, tones, encryption, and features. Programming is done via USB-C using Hytera's CPS software, or wirelessly via Bluetooth using the HyTool Radio Manager app on BT variants. ITFactory.ca offers radio programming at a nominal fee — contact us before or after your purchase to arrange programming for your deployment. Radio Licensing Note The Hytera HP50X is a licensed two-way radio. In Canada, operating a two-way radio on licensed frequencies requires a Radio Authorization issued by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED). The radio functions without a licence, but commercial operation on licensed frequencies without authorization is not permitted under the Radiocommunication Act. For licensing information, visit ised.canada.ca. ITFactory.ca offers radio programming at a nominal fee — contact us to arrange programming for your deployment.
