Mondeuse cru St-Jean-de-la-Porte "La Mort" 2018
From a steep .85-hectare parcel in St-Jean-de-la-Porte, La Mort comes from organically farmed Mondeuse vines rooted in red clay with quartz over limestone. The south and southeast-facing site has a 50% slope and is hand harvested at low yields. The grapes are fully destemmed and ferment spontaneously in concrete before aging for 24 months in used oak, followed by an additional 60 months in bottle. Bottled without fining or filtration.
